The agri-food sector is one of the first targeted by the circular economic action plans of European towns. In Quebec, the fight against food waste is the priority work of several organizations, including Recyc-Québec and Équiterre.
The circular economy provides a structured framework of strategies to reduce this waste, which can be seen at each stage of the chain. The circular economy is now part of the bio-food policy of the ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation du Québec - MAPAQ.
